    Zesty Watermelon Salad

    Jump to Recipe

This zesty watermelon salad is incredibly easy to make and tastes delicious. It is sweet, hydrating and good for you. The punchy lime and zippy cilantro plus Chile and lime seasoning elevate this fruit salad to star status. Plus the addition of healthy fat from the avocados makes this more than a dessert, it's a healthy snack that is filling and satisfying. You will love this no-cook summery salad that is ready in 15 minutes or less. Save this one for a hot day, the kind where even the idea of turning on an oven or stove is rediculous. Make this one to cool off by the pool, bring it to the beach or take it to a cookout. It won't last long, so make sure to grab a bowl. This one is popular.

    The best summer salad

This salad is a next-level fruit salad thanks to squeezed fresh lime and chile seasoning. If you have ever been to Mexico, you have probably tried fruit with chile seasoning. The combo is fresh, a little spicy and super zesty. You have to try this. Depending on where you shop, you can use the Mexican favorite Tajin or the Trader Joe's brand Chile Lime seasoning. They both do the job to make this zesty watermelon salad super tasty and unique.

    INGREDIENTS FOR ZESTY WATERMELON SALAD

This vegan salad is best in summer, when ripe watermelons are at their cheapest and most abundant. However, you can make this one in other seasons too. We all know watermelon is at it's sweetest and most juicy in summer. Since this salad also has line juice, cilantro and chili seasoning, it won't depend completely on the watermelon for flavor. Make sure to choose ripe avocados and mangoes for best flavor. If you are having a hard time finding the Chile lime seasoning I am providing links from my amazon store below. I make commission if you use these thanks for supporting my work.

HOW TO MAKE ZESTY WATERMELON SALAD

This is a really easy recipe! Depending on your skill level with chopping, it can be ready in 10-15 minutes. A quick chop, squeeze, mix and sprinkle is all it takes.

    • Put watermelon, mango, avocado, and chopped cilantro into a bowl.
    • Squeeze limes over chopped fruit and cilantro, mix in with your clean hand or a long spoon to toss the salad.
    • Top with TJ's Chili Lime seasoning or Tajin seasoning for a little kick.
    • Eat within 3 days for best quality or freeze the leftovers for a summery margarita mix.

Tips for making the best summer salad

First, always choose the freshest produce. Do not overbuy produce because unfortunately it does not always last a long time. I like to buy avocados in bags of 4-5 and monitor them every day. Buy them hard and let them ripen on the counter. Once they are ripe, put them into the fridge to halt the ripening process. Same goes for the mangoes. This hack has saved me thousands of dollars.

Second, you need great tools. A sharp knife, a quality peeler, cutting board and great bowl are all necessary to make the best salads.
