Smoky Chipotle Pecans

These smoky chipotle pecans will be your new favorite snack! They are easy to make and have so much flavor. To make these we coat pecans in a spicy, smoky and sweet sauce and bake them until they are crispy, golden brown and perfect. I promise you won't be able to eat just one! These are great as a quick and healthy snack or as a topper for salads.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups whole pecans or pecan pieces
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chipotle pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Spread pecans in a single layer on a sheet pan (you may use parchment paper if desired)
  • Bake for 5 minutes while you make the season sauce
  • Make the sauce. In a skillet over medium heat add water, brown sugar, salt, chipotle pepper flakes, and smoked paprika and bring to a boil.
  • Baste the pecans with the sauce and mix well to assure all nuts are covered. Bake again until crispy, about 7-10 minutes depending on your oven.
  • Eat as a snack or use as a salad topper. These are addictive!
